BNI India members make Rs 1,200-cr biz in 2022
The global business referral organisation has generated more than $20-bn revenues among over 3 lakh members across 79 countries during last year

Hyderabad Business Network International (BNI), the 38-year old business networking and referral organisation, has generated more than $20-billion (Rs 1.66 lakh crore) revenues among over 3.13 lakh members across 79 countries during last year. In India, the company is 17 years old and it has 51,200 members in 1,084 Chapters across 120 cities in the country.
“The overall members of BNI India have generated 140 per cent increase in their revenues at Rs 1,200 crore during last year when compared to Rs 500 crore in 2018. The members are hopeful to create more than Rs 1,000 crore worth business every year,” Sanjana Shah, Executive Director, BNI Hyderabad told Bizz Buzz.
Speaking about the business in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, she said: “BNI has roughly around 5,000+ members across nine cities in both Telugu States. In Hyderabad, it is 11 years old and is likely to touch a membership of 3,000 very soon. This region’s growth has been phenomenal, especially this year with the region creating a world record by inducting 1,000 members on a single day.” The Hyderabad region was acknowledged by BNI as one of the fastest growing regions in the world. To commemorate its 11th anniversary this week, it is hosting the largest MSME event in this part of the country – Kamadhenu Estates BNI GoNat 2023, on September 9-10, 2023 at HITEX, Hyderabad.
The two-day event gives tremendous impetus to Telangana-based MSMEs and startups to leap from regional to national players. It is a unique platform that facilitates exchange of business referrals, collaborations and business networking opportunities, says Sanjana. The past three editions of the expo were successful and this year’s edition is eagerly awaited by the entrepreneurial world.
The event will have entertainment programmes, fashion shows, investor pitches, product launches and awards & recognitions of outstanding BNI members. ‘Givers Gain’ is the core value of BNI and offers its members the opportunity to network, collaborate, share insights, and most importantly referrals. The annual membership fee is fixed around Rs 44,000 per annum irrespective of the turnover, she informed.
